There are a lot of misconceptions about hypnosis and hypnotherapy.
Hypnotherapy is simple. It’s a state of being super relaxed, which allows you to tap into the parts of your mind where emotions, imagination, intuition, and dreams live.
That’s it. Nothing creepy. No clucking.
I can only make you cluck like a chicken if you really want to cluck like a chicken.
When that part of our mind is open, we are far more open to suggestions than our normal, rational mind will allow us to be. For this reason, hypnosis is incredibly powerful in helping people to break free from negative patterns of thought and self-defeating behavior.
Some people are afraid of being or feeling out of control during hypnosis. But it’s quite the opposite. A state of hypnosis is really about having single pointed focus and control. You are conscious and aware throughout a hypnosis session. Most people remember everything that happens and is said during hypnosis.
You are completely in charge of this process. During hypnosis, you cannot be made to do or say anything that goes against your moral or religious beliefs. It just doesn’t work that way.
