Lesson 2: What Your Child’s Doctor May Overlook

What your child's doctor may overlook

The Underlying Root Cause

If you have a child with suspected food reactions, a holistic approach that focuses on the root cause of the problem is the best approach.

Most doctors do not practice holistically. If your child is diagnosed with a food allergy, you will be told to eliminate that food from your child’s diet. That is important for sure.

However, if your child has severe or an unusually high number of allergies (both food and environmental), there may be an underlying root cause, and your doctor is not likely to explore that.

If your child has food sensitivities, this may go entirely overlooked because so few doctors are trained to identify food sensitivities. If no cause is found for your child’s symptoms, your child will likely be prescribed steroids and other medications.
