Endocrine-disrupting chemicals

An endocrine disrupting chemical is anything that mimics or interferes with the endocrine system (aka. thyroid, adrenals, ovaries, etc.). Endocrine-disruptors can interfere with the endocrine system through several different mechanisms. Some endocrine disruptors can bind to the hormone receptors in our cells. In doing so, they block the hormone that is intended for that receptor from binding causing hormonal chaos. Endocrine disruptors are all around us in our household cleaning products, personal and beauty care products and even in drinking water. Learning how to reduce exposure is essential.

Gut Issues

The gut-hormone relationship is perhaps the most overlooked aspect of hormone health. Without a healthy gut, you won’t get far with balancing your hormones! Exciting new science has shown incredible connections between the microbiome (the network of bacteria in the gut and body) and hormone health. Taking good care of the gut is key to avoiding common health concerns and promoting excellent health, energy, and vitality!

Autoimmunity or other health conditions

For reasons that aren’t yet completely understood, women have a higher risk of developing autoimmune conditions than men, and 85% of patients with multiple autoimmune diseases are female. Women experience many hormone changes during their lifetimes, such as puberty, menopause, and pregnancy. These endocrine system changes have significant effects on the immune system and increase the susceptibility of women to autoimmune disorders. As well, pre-existing autoimmune OR other health conditions themselves influence the endocrine and may result in endocrine system disruptions that lead to hormone imbalance.

Negative Mindset

I get it, you're worn-out over your hormone health, tired of the struggle, and you want to lose weight. Let's be real; it isn’t always easy to feel positive.  But here's the thing…Your mind and body are very closely connected, and negative internal self-dialogue can show up as physical ailments. A strong positive connection between your thoughts and your body supports the healing process and can alleviate some of the symptoms and discomfort that you're experiencing. Not to mention, staying positive will significantly help your mental and emotional health!
