Foods and things to eliminate

Don't get too restrictive

Kids should not follow a restricted diet unless medically necessary. Growing children need appropriate nourishment and should not restrict calories or whole foods.

Eliminate the following:

  • Added sugar
  • Artificial sweetener
  • Fast food
  • Processed foods
  • Sugary drinks such as soda and commercial juice
  • Synthetic dyes and food colorings
  • Unhealthy snacks

Use non-toxic household products

  • Toxic skin, body and hair care
  • Perfume and other synthetic scents
  • Harsh household cleaners
  • Plastic
  • Pesticides
  • Room sprays or plug-in air fresheners
